Missed Opportunity

By | 10/06/2015

How often have you missed a golden opportunity because you were afraid of failing?  Have you then had a friend tell you, ‘you know that business you looked at buying?  The guy that bought it is now a millionaire’.  We have all failed at something sometime but the one thing successful people have in common is they they all kept on trying.  I’m sure you have seen a baby trying to take his first step.  He falls over  but he picks himself up and has another go and eventually he succeeds.  If he gave up because he fell he would never learn to walk.

There are many people who have overcome failure to find great success.  People like Nelson Mandela who said “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” — Nelson Mandela.    Oprah Winfrey, J K Rowling also overcame failure to find  success.

So why did these people succeed when others fail?Inspiration

Do you fail because of fear?

Many people let their fear of failure paralyze them.  They think they will fail and so they don’t try.  this is of course a self fulfilling prophesy but how do you change it.

If this is you then here is what I did to stop myself from seeing myself as a failure.  Instead of thinking of all the negative things that could happen if you take a chance turn your thoughts to the positive things you could achieve and refuse to allow yourself to even consider anything negative.  Believe in yourself.  Put up inspirational signs  where you will see them every day

What if I lose Money?

I know this is a very real fear for many people, myself among them and for that reason I only consider offers that give me a chance to examine it thoroughly before I put my money into it.  I would never buy a car without test driving it first and I sure you wouldn’t either.

Bad Experiences in the Past?

I’m quite sure most of us have had those but those experiences should be used to make us wiser and urge us forward not cripple our progress.  Lets face it is you stepped in a hole and hurt yourself you would know it was there next time and never walk into it again.

Now you know what to look for when deciding to start something new.

If you struggle who will help you?

This is a very real and very valid fear.  We may have wonderful supportive friends and family but if you are starting out in a new business they probably won’t be able to help you.  You need to know that experts are there to give you the help and support you when you need it.

I believe Nelson Mandela summed it up when he said ‘The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear‘.  Fear, procrastination, insecurity or bad experience in the past can be used to drive you rather than defeat you.

If you need me to clarify anything please leave a note below and I will be happy to answer you.  I was once afraid too and it held me back for a very long time.  Now I want to help others overcome the things that hold them back and to move forward and reach their full potential.
