What is Flying Solo About? It is a program designed by a British expat, living in Australia, Robert Gerrish who launched the program back in 2005. The Flying Solo program is designed to support and mentor those brave souls who have cut the corporate cord and started their own small business.
Who is Robert Gerrish?
He is the author of Flying Solo: How to go it alone in business. In his promo video for the Flying Solo program Robert Gerrish says he has worn many hats in his career. He began as a consultant helping small businesses with branding their business and helping them find direction. Robert Gerrish has experience in marketing, worked with creative design, coaching people who were starting out in business and an author.
After working as a business consultant he came to a point in his career where he realized he really preferred to work with small businesses. Allan and Unwin contracted Gerrish to write his book, Flying Solo. After publication, he Registered the name and eventually used that name for his Flying Solo business.
What is Flying Solo About?
There are thousands of solo businesses in Australia and Flying Solo addresses the needs of people who are going it alone in business. The aim of the program is to help these solo business owners find and maintain a balance in their lives as they build their business.
There is a discussion forum where members can meet and get answers to their questions or chat about their businesses. Robert Gerrish recognized and addressed the needs of those people working solo. He refers to it as Soloism.
A lot of what is in this program is about staying focused on what you really want while maintaining a healthy balance in your life.
Who is it For?
If you are looking for training to build a business then this is not for you. There is no step by step lessons to walk you through the process of setting up your business. Flying Solo is designed to support those people who are professionals and who understand what is required when it comes to building a business.
Anyone who is working alone building and maintaining their own business will tell you it can become overwhelming. There is no one to run your ideas past or get advice from and this is the need that Flying Solo fills. You still have to pay your bills and put food on the table for your family. These are just the everyday problems we all face but then there are the extra chores and worries of running your own business
Trying to go it alone can be demanding. You are responsible for everything depending on the type of business you are in. As an internet/affiliate marketer you will need to research and write your posts, proof read them for any errors, submit them to social media sites and then test them to see how many visitors your page has and if what you have written about is what people are searching for.
There is a lot more to it than that. Running a business solo is time-consuming. Often family time and your own relaxation time is what is sacrificed for your business. Flying Solo helps to put things into perspective and give you the time and the outlook you need to cope with your business.
If you are already running your own business and becoming overwhelmed with the work load then I would recommend you sign up for Flying Solo. You can try it as a free member to gauge whether it will help you before committing yourself to a paid version.

What are the Membership Levels?.
There are three levels of membership. The free membership is very basic but it does give you a chance to test drive the program and see if it can meet your needs. You can secure your copy of Flying Solo: How to go it alone in business for $5.35 AUD which is the cost of postage within Australia. The retail price of the book in bookstores is around $29.00 AUD.
The Flying Solo Community Level will cost you $99 per year and gives some extra benefits including a one on one coaching session with Robert Gerrish. The Business Class will cost you $299.95 per year but only has one extra benefit. Below is the only benefit I could find to justify the $200 price hike.
